I found it hard to put down. This is a very well-researched book — a deep dive into the Kelker family in America. It begins with their challenging voyage from Switzerland in 1743 and follows their journey through both struggles and breakthroughs. This family not only survived but continued their lineage. I didn’t expect to get so pulled into a family history, but The Kelker Chronicle (my nickname for it) reads more like a historical saga than a dry genealogy. Information dump but great information
I have to admit, there were portions of this book that I sped through as the writing style became a little bit stale. Don’t get me wrong, there was so much to learn, but there were portions that were just an information dump really, which was not the best for me.
The majority of the book was inspirational in a way and how much rich history in the bloodline existed, but also how it showcased the evolution of the culture over the course of decades.

Norman Kelker wrote a great book about their descendants. This book was well researched. I enjoyed reading about the immigrants from the family and being in a America as long as they have been. Reading the story about their triumphs and successes. This book was astounding. I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. The author gave some great details about their trip to the United States. This is our building block of how a nation got started. Norman Kelker gave some great information about this, and was an easy read to understand and follow. I really enjoyed reading this book. The author couldn’t of wrote it any better than what they did. I give this book a 5-star rating, and would recommend it to others.
